How to Lock Your OTTOLOCK Cinch Lock
- Undo ladder strap. Uncoil band.
- Set lock tumblers to your current combination (factory default is 0-0-0) between the two raised indicators.
- Press button until flush before inserting band.
- Insert band into opening under tumblers while holding button.
- Release button. Spin tumblers. Your OTTOLOCK is now locked.
How to Unlock
- Set tumblers to your current combination (factory default is 0-0-0).
- Press button and pull band to unlock.
- Coil band around your hand and over the lock head, and set in place with the ladder strap.
Changing Your Combination
You can change the combination from the factory setting to a combo of your choice. This is handy if you have multiple locks and need to remember them easily.
To reset the combination, set tumblers to your current combination (factory default is 0-0-0), then follow the reset steps.
Note: If you have forgotten your combination, you cannot reset it. You must start the process on the active correct combination.
Troubleshooting
Band sliding out of the lock without pressing the button? To properly engage the lock, do not press the button — give a little push/pull on the band in both directions. This seats the locking pawl into the band teeth and stops it from sliding freely.
Lock jammed or stuck? Try adjacent "neighbor" combinations near your set combo in case a tumbler got bumped, and check that the breakaway button isn't crooked or tilted, which can indicate a malfunction. Forcing the button by pressing it against a table or with pliers voids your warranty. If it's still stuck, contact us and we'll help you get unlocked.
SIDEKICK U-Lock Keys
SIDEKICK U-Locks are not serialized, and three keys are included with every lock. Because they're not serialized, we're unable to issue replacement keys — please keep your extra keys somewhere safe.
